“It all started when I lent a helping hand at Taste! and also took part in the Children's back to school shopping spree. Witnessing firsthand the incredible difference we were making through our fundraising efforts and the fantastic connections I made with fellow members of our local clubs, it's been an unforgettable experience.”
“I joined Active 20-30 in 2012 when I moved to a new city and wanted to meet people while staying connected with volunteering. What I found was so much more. I’ve made amazing friends, grown relationships; professional and personal, and gained a wealth of skills! Being a member of Active 20-30 is difficult, it takes hard work and determination. What you learn is that you get out of it what you put in. The beauty of the relationship is that you’re making a better world for kids in your own community and that is lasting for both of you”
“I joined 20-30 because when I was a kid we had similar organizations helping my mom with Christmas presents, and as I grew up I knew it was something I wanted to “pay it forward”. I have always loved event planning, logistics and networking so it seemed like a great fit. Also I love the people we work with and I love what the club does for the community, both the fundraisers and the give back events.”
“What sparked my interest in the club was the devotion to children and families, the tight knit group of friends, and the fun and creative events. I am building the world my children can thrive in, volunteer in, and feel safe in. Children change the game for us, and they deserve game changing volunteers!”
I find great fulfillment in being of service and contributing to the well-being of our community. It provides me with a structured and effective way to channel my energy and passion into meaningful actions that benefit those in need.
“I joined To make a meaningful contribution with my spare time and meet unique people who are also motivated to do so.”
“I saw an opportunity to help. My family had to stretch dimes into dollars growing up. When I was young my fathers employer was not great with finances and paychecks would regularly bounce. My folks worked hard to make it work. I witnessed what the effort they put in to make ends meet, and now I’m the grown up. I don’t wish that stress upon anyone. There’s a lot of kids out there in pretty rough situations. If a little of my time and energy can help to alleviate, even for a moment or two, the stresses that life can bring, count me in!”
